Bukchigo Jangguchigo is a hidden gem in Coquitlam, BC, where authentic Korean flavors shine. Despite its modest ambiance, as described by patrons, the quality of the food rises above expectations. Customers like Alice Choi emphasize that it’s the go-to spot for genuine Korean dishes, making it a refreshing alternative to the more commercial K-BBQ joints.
The diverse menu caters to adventurous eaters and those seeking comfort food alike. Reviews highlight standout dishes such as the soft and crispy fried intestines, and the richly flavored pig feet that you can customize with your desired spice level. Helen D. mentions her favorites—blood sausage soup and cold buckwheat noodles—demonstrating the depth of the menu.
A cozy atmosphere enhances the dining experience, as Hanna points out, with generous portion sizes that often leave diners satisfied yet full. While the restaurant can be crowded during peak hours, Y S notes that the wait times are minimal and totally worth it. Bukchigo Jangguchigo may not boast fancy décor, but the authentic taste and warm service create a memorable dining experience that keeps customers returning.

Great Korean restaurant. Not super fancy but All their foods are above average. Place to visit if you want to try out authentic Korean foods rather than k-bbq. Expect to wait if you are dining in, but it totally worth it.

The restaurant is small, crowded during peak hours but the food quality is still delicious. The fried intestines are soft inside and crispy outside. The pig feet has a chosen level of spiciness, great when eaten with rice.

Authentic korean restaurant with a diverse menu and my go-to for comfort/soupy food. I have ordered many dished on their menu. My favorites are blood sausage soup, cold buckwheat noodle and seafood pancake. Obviously blood sausage and intestines/organs are not everyone’s cup of tea. But you can’t really go wrong with ordering just anything there.

I went here to try their soup in the cold weather by myself. It was so good! The staff were so kind and helpful with the menu, and the portion size and side dishes were very large for the regular size, I was unable to finish but it was very delicious. The atmosphere is cozy; and I left feeling healthy and warm. The menu items are listed in Korean but English translations are listed beneath each of them!

We came on a Sunday for lunch. This place is packed and you have to write your name down for waitlist. But the turnaround time is fast so we only had to wait for 5 minutes. Don’t expect fancy decor here. It’s more like a hole in the wall restaurant but the food is amazing and authentic. Service was fast. The food came 10 minutes after ordering and it was steaming hot. Definitely will come again.

This place is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Vancouver. The flavors are very authentic and they use great flavors for their soups. The type of dishes is what alot of Koreans like to say is their comfort food. Even in Korea the type of soups they sell here is what an average Korean would eat locally at least once a week. It also pares the best with soju on a cold winter day or even eaten is hangover food. It's my go to Korean soup place, but if you can't eat pork intestines, tripe and other meat parts there are other menu options so don't worry.

One of the best sundaeguk place in Vancouver. I love their grilled sundae plate as well. It’s an unique style of sundae - very chewy and delicious. I’ve traveled coast to coast - and haven’t found a restaurant in North America that serves these types of Korean blood sausage (except in Seoul, Korea). Also recommend the stir-fried pork intestine dish as well. Atmosphere is good - very busy most of the time. Service quality varies depending on the workers.

First time visiting korean restaurant in canada. The server was super nice, and the service was swift and smooth. Some korean guys were drinking soju while chatting loudly so I know this is an “authentic” korean place. I ordered a regular size Sundae soup, and the portion size was pretty large for the price. Side dishes were decent as well, not too salty. I think I will come back when I’m in the area.
